Historical Archive: Szilágy Somlyó Treasure

Parts of treasure found 1797 and 1899 in Szilágy Somlyó/Szilágysomlyó (Hungary),
now Simleul Silvaniei (Romania)
terminus post quem of burial established by a coin medallion of Gratian (377-383)
gold chain with 52 pendant amulets (probably a body chain) late fourth to mid fifth century, probably c. 400-450
Budapest, Hungarian National Museum, and Vienna, Kunsthistorisches Museum
